NO MATTER HOW DIFFERENT WE ARE, WE ALL NEED
A Look Into Tharaka |
This summer, Mrs. Gradel and Mrs. Gharibvand visited Africa with a $10,000 grant from Fund for Teachers. They reached out to several schools and began the works for an aquaponics program for the district. Already, they have touched the lives of hundreds of children and adults by providing the basis for sustainable food. Aqua for Tharaka hopes to go even further by benefiting the entire district, including Kageni Medical Facility, with access to clean water.
How?In short, we plan to build a well. But to get there, we are calling upon our local community to support us. With the dual purpose of encouraging a healthier lifestyle at home, we are selling "Aqua for Tharaka" water bottles as our primary fundraiser. They will be sold at football games, at school, and to our sports teams, specifically during Homecoming Week at Broken Arrow High School. We will also be selling t-shirts and taking donations.
